Jessica C. Smith

Jess, Although our paths only crossed briefly at the Catholic Worker House, our connection was instant. I so understood and yet understand what your hurdles were with your depression. Your passing saddens me greatly. Your name for me was "My Wendi" and your struggle only heightens my desire to fight my own fight with the Big Depression. May you no longer be in pain and rest in Peace. Love, Wendi

Dear Jessie, I will miss you, well actually everone will probably miss you. Also just to let you know we (every one) do care about you and that's why we tried to help you. Like Ashley said: if we didn't know you, we probably would not have sweet, innocent, little Leo in our lives. I remember when you introdueced me to your husband, little Sally, and also Horace and you said, "This is Tori, she is the coolest Thirteen year old I know. She is awesome." Thanks, that really means a lot to me. One more thing to say... I was always glad to take care of Grande. I love what you said that whenever a taco bell commercial came on Grande would look up because she would hear her name Grande. Grande Carmengia is a really cool name it's so unusual. You will never be forgotten! Love, Tori

Jessica, It saddens me that you are longer with us. I know that you are in a better place and not hurting anymore! I'm glad I got to see you last month and we had a nice little chat. Thank God for Trailways, other wise, I would not have meet such a wonderful girl. I had so much fun with you working there! I'm glad that you are up there on my side! Bless you always and hope to see you again one day!!

As a nurse in a local hospital, I worked with Jessica and was very fond of her. I saw so much potential......Jessie was smart and motivated to get well. She loved her family. I so wanted her to succeed and I thought of her frequently. I am very sorry she couldn't overcome the depression. I'll miss her.

Jessica, I am so glad I was able to know you. I love your little daughter Sally; she's so cute and spunky. Without knowing you I wouldn't have little Leo in my life. He is the sweetest and most rambunctious cat I know. Thank you so much for him and for what you said to me that one night when I told you that Andrew and I were getting married. It meant a lot!!! LOve, Ashley

Ron and Sally....My heart goes out to you both. I met Jessica a short while ago at St Lukes and she left a lasting impression. She spoke of Sally and how much joy she brought to her life. So sorry for your loss

Ron and Sally, I am so sorry for your loss. Jess had a heart of gold, and she really tried to fight her disease. More than any thing she wanted to be well for you, Sally. She loved you above all things. Now Jess is at peace with God, and I wish that peace for all who loved her. Marilyn
