Obituary for Jessica C. Smith

Jessica C. Smith, 32, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with depression. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements and cremation entrusted to the Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa. Survivors include her husband Ronald; daughter Sally; mother Doris Loomis of Miles City, Montana; sister Susan LaMie of Napa, CA; mother and father-in-law George and Alice Smith of Cedar Rapids; her beloved cats Grande and Kirby; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father Ardell O. LaMie, brother Joe, sister Janie, and her cat Cybil. Jessica Catherine Smith was born August 8, 1975 in Kankakee, IL to Ardell O. LaMie and Doris Loomis. She was united in marriage to Ronald George Smith on May 6, 2000. Jessica greatly enjoyed her time spent with her family, especially her daughter Sally. She also enjoyed reading, and her cats. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend, and will be greatly missed by those she has left. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jessica’s honor may be made to The Cedar Valley Humane Society, 7411 Mt.
