Obituary for Evelyn Mae Crawley

I was shocked and saddened to see Evie's obituary in the Perry Chief. We had developed a friendship 2 years ago because of her cherry tree. I picked the cherries for her and that turned into weekly visits to help with her outdoor plants in the summer and continued into this fall since I retired from my teaching job across the street. (She had great hopes for the raspberries that she planted!) We had great conversations and shared lots of laughs. She talked often of her children. At Christmas I was disappointed along with her that she was not able to be in MN with you. My husband and I took her a Christmas dinner that was served at the Elks Club in Perry. When we drove by her house this past Sunday I commented that "the kids are here from MN". I had no idea that she was in the hospital. My condolences to you. You have lost a wonderful mother, and I, a great friend. Jean Yanders
