William Loren Husted

Mr Husted was my Industrial Arts teacher at McKinley Jr High 1967-1968. He was a good teacher and a good man. I'm happy to read and learn that he lived such a full life. God bless him.

I worked with Bill at General Mills and retired the same year he did. I'm sure his pleasant demeanor and diversified interests will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Husted was was my 8th grade basketball coach at McKinley Jr. High way back in '65-'66. I can't believe it was that long ago. I don't think we were very good but Bill had one or two (clean) lockeroom jokes that made us laugh. One of my friends had Bill for home room and really liked him. Tom King Cedar Rapids, IA

DEB, BRIEN, CARLIN & SCOTT- PLEASE ACCEPT OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND OUR PRAYERS. I WAS GLAD OUR FAMILY GOT TO MEET AND SPEND SOME TIME WITH BILL. I WILL NEVER FORGET BILL AT ALL THE SPORTING EVENTS AND DEB'S COMMENT ONE DAY, "DID YOU KNOW FOOTBALL IS ON 7 DAYS A WEEK." I AM STILL SO IMPRESSED HOW HE COULD CARVE OUT DIFFERENT THINGS WITH THE GARDEN VEGTABLES THIS PAST SUMMER. MAY GOD GRANT HIM PEACE. JEFF, STEPH, RHETT, MITCHELL, BENJAMIN AND ROCHELLE

My deepest sympathy to Bill's family. I had him as my driver's ed teacher years ago and your Mom was my home economics teacher. Whenever your Dad saw me at the Senior dinners in Vinton he had to give me a bad time. He always had his camera in his hand was taking pictures. They both were neat people and teachers. He will be missed.

My husband, Gaylan, and I had Mr. Husted (that is the only way I knew him) as a teacher as well as his wife - Mrs. Husted was my home ec teacher. Many treasured memories of our high school days with great teachers. We were in Garrison High School in the early 60's. Glad to hear he had a long and fulfilling life!
