Carlton Kirton

Carlton C. Kirton, Jr., age 48, of Montezuma, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at his home. According to his wishes, Carl was cremated. Carl was born July 17, 1959 in Laurel, Maryland, the son of Carlton and Maxine (Adams) Kirton. He married Bethany Jean Klug on June 7, 2003 in their home in Montezuma, Iowa. Carl served in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Technical Sergeant, on July 1, 1979, after 20 years of service. He graduated from William Penn University in May of 2005, with a Bachelors of Science in Information System Management. He was a member of the Druid Network and believed that the earth held great meaning to us all. He enjoyed reading, computers, sci-fi, movies and genealogy. "And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything." ~William Shakespeare Survivors include his wife Bethany of Montezuma, Iowa; daughter Shannon Kirton of Ames, Iowa; son Zack Kirton of Brighton, Colorado; step-daughter Yvette Rivera of Montezuma, Iowa; daughters Natalie and Kayleigh Kirton of Montezuma, Iowa; grandchild Kayden Ann Kirton of Brighton, Colorado; his mother Maxine Kirton; and siblings Nancy McPoland, Patricia Kirton, Sam Kirton and Neil Kirton of Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father Carlton Kirton, Sr. He will be greatly missed by his family. Memorials may be directed to the family in Carl''s name.
