I am glad you were my dad. I miss you.
Sorry to hear of Howie's passing, sadly I had not seen him in many years, although we were good frieds, and cousins, when we were young. My Mom was his Aunt Margaret Niles.
I will continue to remember a lot of good times I had with my brother Howard.
As one of the "Pendleton cousins" I would like to express my condolences in the loss of Howard. He was one of my "older" cousins". I do remember Howard, or Junior as he was called then, coming to our home with his brother Eddie and his mom. David was the same age as my younger brother. I do have a few pictures of Howard's family that I have shared with Eddie. My mom, Mary is their aunt. She was his dad's sister. At 98 she is the last surviving member of her family. She lives in Kenosha also. She still talks about "Junior" and what a very bright little boy he was. She particularly remembers what a good artist he was as a child. She said he sat in our living room window and drew the brick house across the street in perfect detail. We did not live in La Crosse from the time I was 8 but in the summers, in the earlier years, we would all get together at Grandma and Grandpa's house and what a lively bunch that was. My dad referred to it as the gathering of the North La Crosse Indians!!!! Even after their parents divorce my mom tried to always keep in contact with Howard's family and maintained a friendship with Merle that would last for the rest of Merle's life. She continues to enjoy visits with Eddie and Joan, Christmas letters from Deb and has continued concern for all of you. You are in our thoughts and prayers!
I really miss my dad. I wish I could of spent more time with him. love always, kimmy lasvegas, nevada
Please accept our condolences
