Jane McMurry Metcalf
Your mother clearly added culture & class to the Metcalf family.
As a child, I always looked forward to my Aunt Janey's trips.... maybe that's where I got the travel bug!
So sorry to hear of Janie's passing. My mother, Mary McMurry Furrh dearly loved her and I was able to spend some fun and quality time with her when she came to E.F. She was a very sweet and loving person. Janie will be missed by all who knew her. I always keep the family in my prayers. Much love to all the McMurry clan, Mindy Furrh Jay
With deepest sympathy, Bo and Gail
I have many fond memories of Aunt Janey. One of them is the time she came to visit around Easter and left us chocolate candy. Maybe that is where I got my love of chocolate. She came to help out when mom had her first surgery (I was 10 or 11) and that is when I learned how to clean house. I am not much of a traveler but I did see the world through her eyes. I will miss her.
Hello dear family and friends, It is so sad when one of our own passes. When I was in high school, Aunt Janey gave me some advice which set the course of my life's career. She is in my heart everyday as I work. I hope to see you all in Midland in July, but because we will be in San Antonio in early June to help Bob's dad, I'm not sure that I will be able to make it back to Texas later in the summer. My prayers are with you, Bob and Bruce! Love, Diane
Thanks so much for sending Aunt Janey's obituary. I'll print it up and send it to Mom and Dad.
I just learned of Janie's passing, and wanted to share my condolences. She was always so much fun at the McMurry family reunions. Ironically, my mother, Patty McMurry Holmes (Stonewall's daughter and Hap and Carolyn's niece) passed away only a couple of days before Janie. God bless you all, Fran Holmes Devine
I was so sorry to hear about Janie's passing. I have such fond memories of her visits to my Mother and I remember how much Mother loved her.
