To the children of Janet, You do not know me but I helped your Mom with several of her PET scans at Mercy hospital, and I just wanted to let you know in the short time I got to know Janet, I was impressed with her character, her sense of humor, and bravery in facing her illness. She was a very strong and courageous woman. You all are very lucky to have had such a wonderful mother. Sincerely, Lynda Caspers RN

To all who visit here; Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts, remembering our dear mother. She was truly one of a kind and did things 'her way' right up to the end. Tom, Randy, Sherrill and I were all with her when she passed, and that was her last wish, her plan. We will be having a celebration of Mom's life next Saturday, July 14th at the Van Horne City park from 1pm - 4pm, and welcome anyone who would like to stop by and visit with the family. The event will be catered.

Kurt, My first memories of coming to Iowa was that of you and your mother and the home she created for you. Your family was one where the love was felt in action and word. I always felt welcomed by your mother and she reminded me of mine that I had lost just before coming to Iowa. Your mother was one of the reasons I liked coming to your house as she reminded me of what my mother would do when I had friends over before she died. My prayers are with you and I pray that you would truely know Gods love and Grace at this difficult time. I believe God is with you and will help you come through this knowing Him a little better. God Bless you Kurt Ivan

My husband, Harry, and I met Janet when her son, Kurt, wrestled at MVHS. We also have a Kurt, so we immediately had that in common, though our family relationship is as distant cousins and we'd never previously met. We had no idea she was ill. You have our sincere sympathy. Treasure your memories and her writings. Those are true gifts that will live on!

My deepest sympathys for the lose of your mother. Peace now and peace in the days to come. Thank you for the condolence card you sent my family at the lose of our mother. While these times are not easy---they are a great time for family to share and be together. Take this time to reflect on her life and know that she has her just reward--a life well lived and a seat in heaven with our Lord.

Dear Sherrill, Tom, Randy & Kurt: I was very saddened by the email from Sherrill letting me know of your Mom's passing. Your Mom has meant alot to me over the past 40 years. I will really miss your Mom's letters to me every Christmas and not being able to go to visit her everytime I make it back home. I have never forgotten all of the coffee visits your Mom and my Mom used to have almost every morning when we were growing up. Your Mom was very special to me and my sincerest prayers are with you guys and your families right now. I wouldn't doubt if your Mom and my Mom are up there in heaven having coffee right now. Ha! Take care all of you and if you need anything, please don't hesitate to email me.

Kurt, Tom, Randy and Sherrill - your mother was a very special person in my life - my second mom for 23 years and she will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only did she love all her kids but she loved nature - tree's, birds, flowers and animals - particulary cats. We spoke many times about our pets, flowers and bird watching. I will miss her much but know she is at peace now and is enjoying life with all -including all her pets and birds!!! Thinking of you all - my prayers are with you.

Some of you know mom was quite a writer..unlike me, but here is a poem she wrote recently. My Immortality Deep within lie my seeds of destruction carelessly sown when life was young and imagined its indestructability. The seeds are growing with malignant purpose, soon to overtake my final years. But I am serene. Mine has been a full, loved and loving life with deeply cherished family and dear friends. I rejoice in each hour and give thanks for every sunrise. I know that the things I planted will live on, both in my gardens and in my children. In lessons recalled and in happy memories, there is my immortality.

Sherrill, Tom, Randy and Kurt, So sorry to hear about "mom". I always enjoyed the conversations I had with her. I felt that she got as big a kick out of finding out that her youngest had a "twin" as I have being one. She was always very gracious and a neat lady.

Kurt, Sherrill, Randy, and Tom; We were very sad to get the news about your mom. From the time you moved in across the street she became a very special lady in our lives. We have so very many fond memories of her. She was on the special list and we always went to her house caroling on Christmas eve when we were home. Our kids loved her as well as she baked cookies with them when Grandma passed away and we had to be at the funeral home. Our hearts go out to you and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kurt and family, I was very sad to see you mother went to be with Jesus! I pray that you will take with you the comfort of knowing she is in His presence and the she is being enveloped in a love that we can not comprehend. Peg and I will keep you in our prayers and thoughts. I know this is hard and we all will face the loss of our parents. I know she is in a place that we can not comprehend. Please read "90 minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper as this book will give you a glimpse of what heaven is like. May God give you Peace and Grace at this most difficult time. God Bless You now and Forever. Ivan and Peggy Craig
