Obituary for John Perry Groves

John P. Groves, 54, of Grimes, Iowa passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Mercy Hospice Johnston in Johnston, Iowa after a long illness. Per his wishes, John was cremated. A memorial gathering is planned for Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Stoneridge Condominium Clubhouse, 1100 50th Street, West Des Moines, IA from 12pm to 4pm. John is survived by his children Anthony Groves, Phillip Groves, and Katherine Groves; two sisters Amy Kindler, and Sarah Groves; two brothers Thomas (Laurie) Groves, and Andrew (Gaye Carlisle) Groves; his father Varnel Groves; and his companion Mary Beth Williams. John was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Groves. John Perry Groves was born June 3, 1952 to Varnel and Dorothy (McCoy) Groves in Sioux City, IA. John was most recently employed with ICS in Des Moines as a Communications Engineer after having worked for Northwestern Bell as a Design Engineer and US West International as Director of Network Operations.
