Gene R. Brinkman
Gene was leading the drafting department when I started at John Deere in Experimental Drafting in 1979. I appreciated the help and guidance he gave me at that time. I would like to offer my condolences to his family. May memories of Gene serve to bring a smile after your time of grieving.
Grandpa showed me how to fly the plane on his computer. He let me feed the fish and play with the tractors. I miss him very much.
I started at John Deere Waterloo PEC in 1972. I was 20 years old. Gene Brinkman supervised the Production Drafting Department at that time, and was my first supervisor. From Gene I learned to do it right, before handing in my work. He was friendly, patient and professional. Gene made it comfortable for me to start at John Deere. He will be missed.
I worked with Gene at CDI Engineering where he was a "Checker" for quality control. Gene was very helpful when I had questions regarding GD&T and other quality matters when writing ISO work instructions. A very knowledgeable but patient man who didn't mind sharing his expertise with others. It was a pleasure to know him.
