Dennis Dean Murphy
TO DENNIS'S FAMILY I SEND MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY. DENNIS AND I WERE IN SCOUTING TOGETHER AND ENJOYED MANY GOOD TIMES AND LAUGHS TOGETHER AND I KNOW DEEP IN MY HEART WHERE EVER OLD SCOUT LEADERS GO, HE IS DOING HIS BEST. GOD BLESS HIM AND ALL OF YOU.
On behalf of Dennis's fellow members of the Hawkeye Bicycle Association, we would like to extend our sympathies to his family and loved ones. He will be remembered for bringing smiles to the miles of RAGBRAI.
our hearts and souls and memorys are with you and the family sorry for the loss
Our condolences to you also . Would love to have had Dennis and you at the Roosevelt Reunion this past Oct. 6,7 and 8th but understand now why he was not able to attend. My one rememberance of Dennis was when I was walking home and he was working on the Kappa Ann. It was in it's early stages. God bless you all. MaryLe and Ted Smyth
My heartfelt sympathies to the Murphy family. Denny was a true and great friend to me from our first meeting. I hold and treasure so many fun and memoriable times. The super tobogganing, swimming, ice skating, the BEST of dance partners and the time with his caring family! Not to forget cruising the Cedar River on the Kappa Ann, with Denny as the pilot. This gentle and caring man and my friend will be missed. "Peace Denny" Love, Jolene
I biked with Dennis on numerous Ragbrai's and once on the Wisconson ride. We at Hawkeye Bicycle will miss Dennis.
My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time. May your happy memories and your shared friendships carry you through this difficult time. I lost my husband of 48 years in May of this year. The Roosevelt class reunion came at a time when I needed to keep busy. It is a pity that Dennis was unable to attend the reunion and see all of is classmates. I also went to Harrison Elementary School with Dennis. He was the new boy at school, and all the little girls thought he was 'cute'. I have a cute story to share about those young years. Even as a child Dennis was very thoughtful and generous. One Christmas season, Dennis brought a gift to school all wrapped up with a pretty bow on top. As he walked into the classroom, the teacher took the box and thanked Dennis kindly. The next day, my mother received a phone call from the school teacher. It seems the box contained all kinds of hair ribbons in an assortment of colors and patterns (along with a little note that said "to Sandra from Dennis"). I think that was about 2nd grade. I hope others share sweet stories with you and your family. May happy memories keep you strong. Sandee Skelton

To the Dennis Murphy, Sr. family: I pray that the Love of the Lord Jesus embrace you and bring Great Comfort to you. I will miss Uncle Dennie, as I know everyone will. He was a Great man, a nice man with a good sense of humor. I think that is what I liked about him the most, his sense of humor. I know Donnie Murphy always referred to his Uncle Dennie with very high regard, I shared that with him, and that will continue throughout all of our lives. We were truly blessed to get to have him in our lives! God Bless you all!
We wish to send our sympathy to the family..... wish he had been well enough to come to the Roosevelt 50th reunion..... I know a lot people would have like to see him. God's blessings Ted and Mary Le
My condolences to you. Dennis was a very nice man - and a nice boy. I went through school with him. My husband, Jim, and I would meet him occasionally on the bicycle trail. Once a group of old highschool girlfriends were having breakfast at the Spring House. When we left to pay, we found that Dennis had already paid for us! God bless you and give you peace.
