Dorothy Lois Chesnut

Dorothy L. Chesnut, 91, a resident of Port Charles Assisted Living, Charles City, died July 5, 2006 at Chautauqua Guest Home following a brief illness. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Eastern Central and Western Iowa. Survivors include her niece Ramona Linebaugh Springer of Belleville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Chesnut, and sister Doris (Parker) Springer and husband Harold. Dorothy Lois Chesnut was born June 9, 1915 the beloved daughter of Roy and Clio (Usher) Parker in Charles City. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1933. She married Harold Chesnut on April 10, 1937 in Charles City. She was employed for 5 years at the local F.W. Woolworth Store. She was a friend of Trinity United Methodist Church. She greatly enjoyed wintering in Tucson, AZ as well as spending her summers at her cottage in Harper''s Ferry on the Mississippi. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dorothy’s honor may be made to Hospice of North Iowa, 1003 Gilbert St., Charles City, Iowa 50616.
