Bert W. Leonard, 58, of 142 Miller Ave. SW died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006 at Mercy medical Center after an extended illness. Memorial services at 10:30 AM on Thursday at Eden United Church of Christ where friends may visit with the family after 9:30 Am. Rev. Dr. Glenn Hunt will officiate. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Sheryl, a son Bert Wesley Leonard (Jackie) of Shellsburg, a daughter, Shelley Allison (Joe) of Lone Tree, two step daughters, Heather Sneed (Tim) of Marion and Angelia Davis (Casey Brown) of Cedar Falls, his mother, Cristle Leonard of Cedar Rapids, three brothers, Clarence "Bud" Leonard (Claire) and Robert Bliss all of Cedar Rapids and Wayne Collum of Marion. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Erik Allison, Hunter Hartgrave and Joseline Leonard. He was preceded in death by his father. Bert was born on Oct. 18, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Clarence and Cristle Luchterhand Leonard. He married Diane Netolicky Lindhorst on Nov. 16, 1965 in Cedar Rapids. They were later divorced. He later married Sheri Davis on Aug. 7, 2004 in Cedar Rapids. Bert was a self-employed project manager. He enjoyed scouting and was an Eagle Scout. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and many friends. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Bert''s name.
