Obituary for Robert Edward Simmons

Robert Edward Simmons Sr., age 68, died Sunday November 27, 2005 at Lexington Square, Keokuk, IA. Private family graveside services will be held at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Thursday, Dec. 1st, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. Survivors include his wife Nadine of Keokuk, two daughters Theresa Taylor of Erie, Pa, Sherry Starr and husband Brad of Keokuk, two sons: Terry Mayer and wife Vicki of Wisconsin and Rick Mayer and wife Trisha of California, five brothers: Norbert, Jerome, Thomas, Patrick and Charles, and two sisters: Rita and Cecilia all of Erie, PA. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jeff Richards, Amanda Pritchard, Robert Taylor, Mike, D.J., Trista, April, Cody, Wesley, Emily and Tori Mayer & Tori & Roni Starr, and 3 great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his son Robert Jr. Robert was born on December 4, 1936 in Erie, PA, the son of Leon and Theresa(Sevey) Simmons. He was united in marriage with Nadine Page on June 25, 1977. He resided in Keokuk, IA for the past 27 years with his wife Nadine. Robert retired from trucking in 2001. He served in the National Guard for 11 ½ in Erie, PA. and was a member of the New Testament Christian Church of Keokuk. Robert loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved going to church, fishing and truck driving. Family requests no flowers, memorials may be made to Nadine Simmons.
