Robert A. Langridge

Robert A. Langridge, 78, of 321 Cambridge Dr. NE died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at his home after a short illness. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM on Sat. at the Unity Center of Cedar Rapids, 3791 Blairs Ferry Rd NE. Rev. Thelma J. Hembroff will officiate. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa in charge of arrangements. Survivors include a daughter, Becky Langridge, three sons, Mike (Sandy), Robert Jr. all of Cedar Rapids and Bill (Lola) of Sterling, Colorado; two brothers, Howard of Tennessee and Raymond of Marion. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Bob was born on April 24, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, the son of H.R. and Winifred Millburn Langridge. He married Emily Barnett on Feb. 11, 1945 in California. She died in 2001. Bob was a traffic engineer and consultant for various companies, retiring in the early 90s. He was a volunteer at the Rockwell-Collins Retirees Club, a member of R.S.V.P. and served in the Navy during WWII. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Mercy in Bob''s name.
