Neal A. Young, 56, of Riverside, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Neal was born on August 15, 1970, to Judy and Al Young in Washington, IA. He graduated from Washington High School in 1988. After graduating he worked for the Iowa DNR at Lake Darling for a while. He held other positions throughout his life, and most recently he worked in printing at RR Donnelley in Iowa City.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking; especially smoking meat. He also enjoyed racing and worked on stock cars locally for some time.
Neal is survived by his partner, Gena McGuire; his mother, Judy Young; his aunts and uncles; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, L. Alfred Young.
