Obituary for Nancy Carol Mixdorf

Nancy Carol Mixdorf, 80, March 14, 1946 - September 15, 2026. The daughter of Forrest and Fern Mixdorf, Nancy was born in Waterloo and attended schools in Cedar Falls and Waterloo; she graduated from West High School in 1964. Nancy earned a degree in Science from the University of Northern Iowa and became a metallurgist until her interest in books and reading led her to earn a master’s degree in library science from the University of Illinois.

Nancy loved the City of Davenport and lived there for many years. Her professional career included employment as the Library Director in Sherrard, Illinois. Nancy’s lifelong interests included music, crafts, and of course, books and reading. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport, where she had friendships of great value to her. Most recently, Nancy resided in Harmony Utica Ridge. She is survived by her brother, Glen Mixdorf, of Everett, Washington, and her niece, Stacey Conrad, of Seattle, Washington.

The family suggests any memorial contributions be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport, Iowa.
