Obituary for Mary J. Hill

Mary J. Hill, 89, of Keota, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, just one day after celebrating her 89th birthday.

Mary was born on September 29, 1937, the daughter of Granville and Ruth (Sullivan) Allnutt. Throughout her career, Mary took great pride in cleaning homes and building a successful business of her own. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and reading magazines, often clipping out new recipes she looked forward to trying.

Mary married Kenneth Hill, and to this union four children were born. Although Mary and Kenneth later divorced, they remained close and maintained a special relationship throughout the years.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; Kenneth Hill; her son, Ken Hill; grandchildren, Jamie Michael and Annie; and her great-grand angel, Trinity Hope.

Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her children, Michael (Jodi) Hill, Brian Genter and Carol (Larry) Gabrielson; grandchildren, Jamie Marie, Sarah, Peggy, Joshua, Michelle, Kristi, Danita, Danelle, Laura, Matthew, and Angela; 29 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Mary was one of 12 children, and she is also survived by her sister, Merle Goodman.
