Janice Ladeburg
Janice (Jan) Marlene Ladeburg, Age 80, of Oelwein, IA, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Jan was born on March 25, 1946, in West Union, IA. She was the daughter of the late Alfred (Pat) and Melvina (Ruroden) Woodson. She was a graduate of West Union High School. On June 3, 1967, Jan married the love of her life, Richard Lynn Ladeburg, in West Union, Iowa. She worked at Upper Iowa University and at Occo Feed as a Key Punch Operator as well as working at the Sears catalog store and Miller Wohl Women’s Apparel, before settling down as a devoted wife and mother. Jan and Richard enjoyed RVing and camping, snow-birding in Arizona, country line dancing, visiting casinos, eating Chinese Buffets, especially Lucky Buffet in Independence, and cross-stitching. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish Jan’s memory are her husband, Richard, of Oelwein, IA; her children, Heidi (Jeff) Conroy, of Mason City, IA, Richard (Andrea) Ladeburg, of Oelwein, IA, and Jason (Kerri) Ladeburg, of Romney, IN; her grandchildren, Breanne (Cory) Olson, of Tripoli, IA, Jared Ladeburg, of Oelwein, IA, Jon Conroy, Swaledale, IA, Taylor (Hunter) Goskeson, of Mason City, IA, Joshua Ladeburg, of Oelwein, IA, Adalyn Ladeburg, of Romney, IN, and Evan Ladeburg, of Romney, IA; four great grandchildren; a sister, Judy Schultz, of Frankfort, IL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Nancy, and her brother, Stan Woodson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
