Obituary for Cecelia M. Edwards

Cecelia M. Edwards, 85, of Hiawatha passed away on Saturday, Oct 24th at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids after complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She had been in remission for over 10 years. Honoring her wishes there will be no formal visitation or services. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.

Cecelia was born on December 7, 1940 at home in Jones County, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Diana Heasty. Cecelia was united in marriage to Terry Edwards on October 27, 1957. She retired from Rockwell Collins in 1998 after 25 years of service.  At Rockwell she started on the line and advanced to being a machinist in the Mills Dept. working in the same department as her husband, Terry.

Cecelia’s favorite pastime was going fishing for bluegills and crappies with Terry in their Lund fishing boat at Lake McBride and Hawthorne Lake.  She also enjoyed spending time with friends and relatives, watching movies and reading.

Cecelia is survived by her two children, Christine Edwards (Jeff Conley) of Hiawatha and Craig Edwards of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Brandon Edwards and Krystal (Drew) Miller, both of Enterprise, Kansas; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Maryann Clabaugh of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brad Edwards; brother, Lester Heasty and sister, Fran Carter.
