Ronald Roy Criswell, age 78, of West Liberty, Iowa, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday May 19th, 2026.

Visitation will take place from 4pm to 7pm on Monday May 25th, 2026, at Nichols Christian Church at 607 Grant Ave, Nichols Iowa. The funeral will take place at the Nichols Christian Church at 11am on Tuesday May 26th, with a luncheon to follow. 

Ronald was born on August 4th, 1947, in Grinnell Iowa. He was the son of the late William “Roy” and Dorothy (Dickerson) Criswell. He attended Montezuma High School. On April 2nd, 1966, Ron married his high school sweetheart Beverly Hewitt.  Ronald enlisted in the US Air Force where he served during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Ronald and the family moved to Denver Colorado where he was a supervisor for Precision Plastics. In 1979 they moved to West Liberty Iowa, and he went to work for UTA in Iowa City, where he was a maintenance scheduler for 34 years.

Ronald was a member of the Nichols Christian Church. His hobbies were woodworking, golfing, doing projects and hunting with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Beverly of West Liberty, IA; his daughters Lora Pelzer (Bob), of Sioux Falls SD, and Stacy Daufeldt (Andy), of Durant IA; his grandchildren, Corinne Victor (Zach) and Eli Pelzer, and Elizabeth, Bryce, Brady, and Adison Daufeldt; his brother Richard Criswell of Covington TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Brian Criswell, and a sister Billie Mulligan.

Honorary Pallbearers are Eli Pelzer, Bryce Daufeldt, Brady Daufeldt, and Brian Nebergall.

Memorials may made to the West Liberty Fire Department in West Liberty Iowa.
