Robert "Bob" Harold Eden
Robert Harold Eden, “Bob,” 80, of Anamosa, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026. No services will be held at this time.
Bob was born on November 26, 1945, to Harold and Mabel (Thielen) Eden in Anamosa, Iowa. He graduated from Anamosa High School in 1964. In 1966, he started working as a machinist for Iowa Manufacturing. He stayed with the company through their acquisition by Terex and retired from them in 2007, after 40 years.
He married Adrianne Hughes on July 1, 1978. They went to high school together and reconnected a little later in life during a game of pool one evening.
Bob was an avid bowler and competed at national bowling tournaments for 35 straight years. Through bowling, he was able to visit all but 5 states.
He often helped family and friends by working on their vehicles. After retirement, he continued to work on cars, but his free time also included card games with friends every Saturday, traveling, and refining his bowling techniques.
Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Adrianne Eden; his children, Alan Eden, Daniel (Karie) Eden, Darla McElyea, Michael Hughes, and Renee (Lonnie) McGovern; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Renald (Deva) Eden; and many loyal friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his little brother, Gary Eden; and assorted relations.
