Randall "Randy" Gene Sleep
Randall “Randy” Gene Sleep, 71, of Langworthy, Iowa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
A Celebration of Life for Randy will be held on June 19, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rotary Lodge at Wapsipinicon State Park, 20301 County Road E34, Anamosa, Iowa 52205.
Randy is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Bryce (Sarah) Sleep, Shelly Sleep, Sage (Andy) Miller, and Wesley Sleep; his siblings, Ron (Peggy) Sleep, Jerry (Joy) Sleep, and Kathy (Pat) Francois; and his grandchildren, Leah and Jorja Sleep, and Sydney, Jackson, Maxwell, and Charlotte Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Thelma Sleep, and his brother, Bob Sleep.
Randy was born on September 28, 1954, in Maryville, Missouri. He spent his first few years in Bedford, Iowa, before moving to Martelle, Iowa. Randy graduated from Anamosa High School with the Class of 1973.
Throughout his life, Randy worked in maintenance at several factories. He also owned and operated a True Value Hardware Store in Anamosa, Iowa.
Randy was very active in AA and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking and fishing. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Above all, Randy cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Above & Beyond Hospice, 417 East First Street, Monticello, Iowa 52310.
