Roger D. Richards, loving father of Julie and Tammy, passed away on March 30, 2026, in Cedar Rapids.
He was born on May 22, 1948, in Webster City to William and Naomi (VanAusdall) Richards. Roger worked for several employers throughout his life and retired from working as a machine operator for Kinze Manufacturing.
During his lifetime, Roger attended several churches. He taught a kindergarten Sunday school class for many years and led children’s Bible quizzing teams. He helped with many things at church, and at times served on church boards and was involved in drama ministry. He always enjoyed playing his trombone at church.
Roger also enjoyed crosswords, playing Freecell, watching sitcoms, trimming trees, bike riding, puzzles, working on his paper creations, and spending time with family.
Roger is survived by his two daughters, Julie (Steve) Carlson and Tammy (Tim) Lewis; and his grandchildren, Alisha, Amanda, Stefanie, Spencer, and Luke.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother (Bruce).
