Edith Kuhens
Edith Kuhens, 98, of Oelwein, passed away Sunday March 1st, 2026, at Grandview Healthcare Center in Oelwein.
There will be a Celebration of Life on April 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at The Coliseum.
Edith is survived by her four children: Diane (Bill) Brownell of Oelwein, Iowa; John (Susie) Kuhens of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; Suzanne (Vince) Carbone of Savannah, Georgia; and Joel Kuhens of Mt. Vernon, Arkansas. In addition, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild with 3 more on the way.
Edith was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert, and great-grandson, Cooper Ingels.
Edith Graduated from Lamont High School and Pitzies School of Beauty in Waterloo. She then worked in a salon in Lamont.
She met Robert Kuhens at The Coliseum in Oelwein. Later they were married at The Little Brown Church. Robert and Edith farmed for many years in the Maynard and Strawberry Point areas.
After Robert’s death, Edith moved to Mount Pleasant and lived there until moving to Grandview 6 years ago.
Edith was a dedicated Wife and Mom.
She enjoyed farm life and dances at The Coliseum, where she and Robert first met. When the Grands came along her life was complete.
Edith's family thanks and appreciate the wonderful care and support given to their Mom at Grandview Health Center the past 6 years.
