Terri Lynn Schmacker passed away on June 29, 2026, in Iowa City, Iowa. Private services and interment were held.
Terri was born on January 21, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Robert and Carol (Vaughn) Schmacker.
Terri dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a phlebotomist at Des Moines Methodist Medical Center for four years. Throughout her career, she held a variety of positions centered on helping people, including serving as a brain injury attendant, working as a dental assistant in Las Vegas, Nevada, for eight years, and working as a horticulturist at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. No matter where life took her, Terri enjoyed connecting with people and making a positive difference in their lives.
She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered for her kind heart, caring spirit, and the love she shared with everyone who knew her.
Terri is survived by her parents, Robert and Carol Schmacker; her sisters, Bobbi Schmacker and Sherri (Rodney) Andrew; her partner, Albert Jones; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Dyer.
