Steven Ray Westendorf
Steven Ray “Steve” Westendorf, 73, passed away Saturday, June 20th, with his daughter by his side. Steve did not desire a funeral or celebration of life and those who loved him respect those wishes.
Steve was born on September 5th, 1952, to Wendall and Alice Westendorf, who both preceded him in death. Steve lived a quiet life making many friends throughout the years. He was a hard worker, always working in the automotive industry, with his favorite position teaching automotive technology at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, IA in the early 90s. He most recently retired from Midwest Wheel where he was a dedicated employee both in Colorado and in Cedar Rapids, IA, and he was recognized several times for his stellar work ethic and contribution to the company over the years.
Steve loved the Kansas City Chiefs football and was a connoisseur of old movies. He was dedicated to his two children, Melissa (Westendorf) Garton and Matt Westendorf, and the families each of them built.
He is survived by his 2 children, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 siblings, Elaine (Galen) Schellhorn and Larry (Vickie) Westendorf.
