Leola June Hartman

Leola June Hartman, 99, of Waverly, Iowa died June 27, 2026 at home of natural causes.
 
She was born on June 21, 1927 in Chickasaw County, near Ionia.  The daughter of Henry and Mattie (Klinehart) Mack.  She was baptized in the Lutheran Church at Ionia and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church at Nashua by Reverend Arnold Jakar.  She attended high school in Nashua, graduating in 1945.  She worked at the Key Overall factory in New Hampton following graduation.  In 1950 she married Virgil Hartman from Waverly. They were engaged in dairy farming north of Waverly.
 
Leola was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Virgil, her parents, and her siblings and their spouses, Lois (Warren) Griffin, Lorris (Gloria Coen) Mack.

She is survived by her three children, Paulette (Dan) Norton of Waverly, Kevin (Pamela Baier) Hartman of Waverly, and Cheryl (Larry) Krough of Scottsdale, AZ, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

An inurnment for Leola and Virgil’s cremains will be held on July 16, 2026 at 10 AM at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Waverly.  Pastor Shaw will be officiating.  A small family gathering is planned.
