James August Hagen
James August Hagen, Age 69, of Fairfax, IA, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held later.
James was born on August 27, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was the son of the late Junior G. and Violet (Tippie) Hagen. On September 1, 1984, James married Leslie Lewis. James worked in construction for most of his life. He was a longtime member of the Fairfax Youth Association, was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Sports Fan, and enjoyed working in his shop.
Those left to cherish James’ memory are his children, Joel G. August (Stephanie) Hagen of Fairfax, Maddie Hagen of Marion, and Wendi (Ben) Fagen, of Carroll, IA; his grandson, August Hagen; his sister Kay Enochson, of Marengo, IA, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother, Monte Hagen, and his beloved dog, Buddy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
