Cindy Sue McGuire, age 66, of Marion, IA, passed away on June 9, 2026. She was born on January 30, 1960 in Waterloo, IA to Lawrence and Judith Evans. Cindy is survived by her daughter Rainy (Alex) Balderrama of San Jacinto and her children, Patrick and Cesia Sanchez; son Brian (Chasity) Helmick of Hiawatha and their children, Jessica and Dominic; son Evan (Janelle) McGuire of Cedar Rapids; daughter Samantha McGuire of Coralville; brother Gregory Evans of Waterloo; brother Michael Evans of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cindy will be remembered for her limitless imagination, her ability to create whatever she thought of, and her deep love for her dog, Sadie. She was always making, drawing, crocheting, quilting, or dreaming with Sadie by her side. The knowledge that Sadie was with her through the end, as an endless source of comfort, brings us peace.
