Steven Dean "Red" Morlan

Steven Dean “Red” Morlan, age 71, of Glidden, IA, passed away at his home surrounded by family members on July 16, 2026, following a battle with cancer. 

Steve was born July 27, 1954, in Jefferson, Iowa to Carl Lester and Rita Mae (Ayers) Morlan. On August 20, 1977, he married Jo Evans of Churdan and became a father to Amy.

Steve graduated from Glidden-Ralston in 1973. In his life span, Steve farmed, worked for farmers, was a feed truck driver for the Ralston Coop (now Landus Coop), owned/managed restaurants in Glidden, and worked for the City of Glidden. He loved the outdoors and hunting.  In his retirement years, he enjoyed the coffee group that met in Glidden each weekday morning. 

Steve is survived by his wife, Jo, daughter Amy Morlan Mink (Dean) of Davenport; grandchildren, Alex Mink, Katlyn Lienen (Codey), Michaela Mink (fiancé Scott Beauregard), Zoe Mink, and Zane Mink, all of Davenport; great-grandchildren Tyson, Isaiah, Raelynn, and Tucker Lienen, Alexander, Sebastian, and Ariel Beauregard all of Davenport; sisters Cathy Mooney (Kenny) of Jefferson, Gloria Hill (Michael) of Roland, Donna Vaughn (Robert) of Waterloo, and brother, Jeffrey Morlan (Tracy) of Ankeny, and several nieces and nephews.

Steve was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister, Connie Jean Morlan, Jo’s parents, Bert and Waudena Evans, brother’s in-laws, Ted and James Evans, and sister-in-law, Patti Groves.

Per Steve’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service.
