Kathleen Virginia Cohn

Kathleen Virginia Schrage Elliott Cohn, 94, of Denver, Iowa, passed away January 8, 2026, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. She was born on September 29, 1931, in Greene, Iowa, to Chriss and Ellen Schrage.

She graduated from Little Cedar High School in 1950 and married Maurice Elliott on June 14 that same year. They later divorced.   She worked with her husband to open and run Elliott’s Camper Service from 1969 to 1988, renting and selling campers and snowmobiles in Postville, Iowa.

She enjoyed working with people, volunteering at schools, and teaching financial management classes to others.  She spent many years traveling full time in an RV and seeing the United States, spending most of her time in Southern Texas.

She married again on September 2, 2004, to Albert (Bill) Cohn.  They also enjoyed traveling to Southern Texas for the winter.  They later divorced.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela (Jeff) Lund of Waterloo, Iowa, and Vickie Burington of Fayette, Iowa; and her sons, John Elliott and Daniel Elliott. 

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Carolyn (Dave) Wagner, Jessie (Morgan) Colwell, Jonnie (Charlie) Becker, Travis (Kelly) Elliott, Chris (Kayla) Burington, Matt (Stacie) Burington, Jenny Burington, Samantha Lund, Gage (Alissa) Lund, and Devon, Grace, Jonathon, and Alexandra Lund. She also leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Pat Kraft of Great Falls, Montana, and Veronica Adams of Stacyville, Iowa, and one brother, Leon Schrage of Iowa City. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her kind heart and gentle spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Eugene Schrage; her sister, Marie Diggle; daughters, Maureen Shaner and Denise Liddle; daughter-in-law, Lynn Elliott; grandson, Nickolas Elliott; and her former husbands, Maurice Elliott and Albert (Bill) Cohn.

A memorial service to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be held later this year.
