In loving memory of Joan Gryp, born on March 8, 1945, and passed away on January 21, 2026, at the age of 80.
Joan lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she was a snowbird and went to Texas every winter. She passed away in her home in Brownsville, Texas of natural causes.
She married the love of her life David W Gryp, together they had 10 children James, Donald and Ronald Collins: stepchildren, Tony, Terri, Todd, and Tracy Gryp. They also built a company together named Dave Gryp Construction.
Joan also had several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Her parents were William (Bill) Lester and Rosella (Rose) Ann (Reinert) Boothby: siblings LaRae Rupp, Rosalie Allen, Betty Hill, Kris Robinson and Kayla Smith.
Joan was proceeded in death by her spouse David Gryp; children, LaRae Blankenship and twins Robert and Robin Collins: parents, Bill and Rose Boothby; siblings, William Boothby JR., Deanna Heoppner; in-laws Terry Rupp, Elmer Heoppner, Harvey Allen, Jack Hill, and Tom Smith.
She loved to listen to 60s music, loved to travel, go to casinos and crafting. Always having fun where she went, it was a pleasure to be around her. She never let green grass grow under her feet, Live life to the fullest.
