Roy “Les” Severns

At 83 years old, on February 6, 2026, Roy “Les” Severns rode into his final sunset. A cowboy at heart from the very beginning, he lived by the strength of a handshake and the belief that every good story deserved to be told, preferably over a hot cup of coffee at a favorite diner.

Rarely seen without a toothpick and his trusted cowboy hat, he carried the quiet confidence of someone who knew who he was and where he came from. His tales, full of dust, grit, and humor, drawn from a life well ridden, had a way of pulling people in. Whether you’d known him for years or had just met him around the barn, he made you feel like a trusted friend.

As a father, he tried to teach his children the simple but powerful lessons he valued most: stand tall, speak true, work hard, and take care of your people. His family, his most valuable legacy, will forever carry his stories, his laughter, and his steady spirit forward.

He lived by the values echoed in many a cowboy’s prayer. As he might’ve said in his own words, he hoped to face life with courage, ride with integrity, and meet the Lord “with clean hands and an honest heart.”

He will be missed by his family and long-time friends. The trail won’t be the same without him, but the mark he left - kind, genuine, and unforgettable will remain.
