Karen E. Pierce
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Elaine (Good) Pierce, a loving mother and remarkable woman of faith. Karen fought a courageous battle with cancer; the fight is now over, and Mom passed from this life on February 4, 2026. She was 86 years old.
Karen's nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her children. While Karen was a serious person, she was also a fun mom who never hesitated to play Monopoly or a card game with anyone. Guided by her passion for Jesus, Karen made several trips to Bolivia to help her friend Eida at a children's orphanage.
She wore many hats to support her family, working at the bank in Mingo, the Colfax-Mingo schools, and as a secretary for a law office in Colfax. She also found time to volunteer in many places throughout the community. Karen's memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and coworkers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Jesse, and her husband, Melvin. She is survived by her brother, Bill; her children, Todd (Kay) and Tim; her granddaughter, Sophia; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service to celebrate Karen's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Susan G. Komen for breast cancer research or the Alzheimer's Association.
