Obituary for Jeffrey Paul Shumaker

Jeffrey Paul Shumaker, 73, of Davenport, Iowa, died on Sunday, February 8th, 2026.

Jeff was born in Berkeley, California in 1952, to Barbara and Paul Shumaker.  His parents were artists, along with his younger sister, Beth.  He enjoyed a childhood filled with music and art. When Jeff was a young child, his family moved to Keosauqua, Iowa later making roots in Davenport. Jeff attended Central High School and Marycrest College. He was a lover of literature and music. He was a jazz pianist who played in local bands throughout his life. Jeff was a hard worker who spent his career as a machinist, retiring in 2018.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Donna; his six children and their families: Tara, Erin, Taylor, Jordan, Paul, and Payton, as well as his two sisters, Beth and Stella. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Paul, and stepson, Corey.

A private family service will be held at Cunnick-Collins Life Celebration Center, 1200 East 39th Street, Davenport, Iowa, 52807, on Monday, February 16, 2026. Following the service, visitation for friends and family will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the same location. Anyone wishing to pay their respects during visitation is welcome.
