Colleen “Chris” Marie Crispin, born May 9, 1944, in Boone, Iowa, passed peacefully at home in Sun City, Arizona, on February 25, 2026.
Chris was feisty, wonderfully stubborn, and rarely still for long. Her hands were always busy creating something meaningful through painting, sewing, decorating, fiber crafts, and cooking. With a word puzzle never far from reach, she loved settling in with a new show about treasure hunting or aliens, always curious about what else might be out there.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Richard Ruby, and by her daughters, Jennette Lindquist and Paulette Scherr.
She is survived by her daughters, Monette Dowd and Collette Whisnant, along with 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren who carry her spirit forward.
No services will be held.
