Ronald L. Brooks, 69, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Ronald was born on March 5, 1957, in California, the son of Earl and Shirley (Vauhn) Brooks. He began working in construction at the age of 17 and built his skills through hands-on experience in framing, roofing, decks, fencing, and concrete.
Ronald met Beverly Karrick in Redondo Beach, California. Together, they raised Keith and later moved back to Iowa to be closer to the maternal side of the family.
Ron loved gardening and will be remembered for his delicious homemade pickles, cantaloupe, and the vegetables he added to his savory pork roast. In his free time, he also enjoyed NASCAR, motor-cross, motor sports, and cooking.
He was preceded in death by parents, his oldest brother Bill, and Beverly Karrick.
Left to cherish Ron's memories is his son, Keith Brooks, brother Bob (Robert) Brooks, friends, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of one's choice.
