Earl James "Jay" Pierce III
Earl James Pierce III, 74, of Cedar Rapids passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at St. Lukes Hospital Hospice surrounded by his loving family.
Jay was born November 27th, 1951, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He attended Riverview High school in Sarasota, Florida. In his free time, he found joy in the things he loved most. Spending time with family, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, riding his Harley, spending time on the golf course, or casting a line waiting for the next big catch. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved cats, whose companionship meant the world to him. He had a way of making everyone smile and was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki; his daughter, Jeni (Darrin) O’Brien; his son Jake (Amber) Pierce; his stepdaughter Kelley (Steve) Aldrich; his sister Jill Bachner; his thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two kitties Mimi and Mama.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Bobbie Pierce, brother Jeff Pierce, sister Vickie Pierce and stepson Cain Christensen.
Friends and family are welcome to join Jay’s Celebration of Life from 2-6pm, Sunday August 23rd at the Woodpecker lodge in Central City. 1850 Woodpecker Hill Rd, Central City, IA 52214.
