Connie Root of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on August 12, 2026, at the age of 77. She was born on September 22, 1948, to Loretta and Glen Emlet in Muscatine. Connie was a longtime newspaper distributor for multiple local newspapers and was active in Musserville United Methodist Church in Muscatine.
Connie enjoyed painting, gardening, the Hawkeyes, and the Indiana Fever. Most of all, she loved being a mom, grandma, and GG. She was known for her silliness, supportiveness, and how much she cared about the people around her. She was an incredible woman who was loved by many.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Stephanie (Todd) Stammer, Daniel (Heather) Boisen, and Erin (Jeremy) Rider; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, including one on the way; her siblings, Jackie Emlet and Greg Emlet; a niece and nephew; and many loving friends.
Visitation will be held at Musserville United Methodist Church on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 1–3 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Food and fellowship will be available following the funeral at Musserville United Methodist Church until 6 p.m.
