Stanley James "Jim" Hoselton, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on April 28, 2026. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, 2:00 pm, at Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 2204 26th Street NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jim was a hardworking and dedicated man who built his life around his work and the people he cared about. He began his career at Williams Electric Motor Service, where his father taught him the skills that became his lifelong trade. He later worked as a meat distributor before spending the last 35 years at Electric Motor Shop / Hupp Electric in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Jim truly loved his work and took great pride in what he did. Hupp Electric was more than just a workplace—it was a family-owned business that treated him like one of their own, and he valued those relationships deeply.
Jim was also a devoted man of faith. He served as an elder in the Jehovah's Witnesses for over 30 years, supporting and caring for others in six different congregations—four in Cedar Rapids, one in Albia, Iowa, and one in Ottumwa, Iowa. Jim wiil be remembered most for his warm heart and easygoing nature. He was always smiling, always ready with a joke* and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Jim was married to his wife, Patty, the love of his life, for 38 years.
He is survived by his family: brother Rod Hoselton and wife Shelly of Sully, Iowa, and sister Lori Smith of Hedrick, Iowa. Jim was preceded in death by Patty, his parents, and his sister, Twyla.
