Charles “Charly” Franklin Comried, 77, of Anamosa, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Anamosa Care Center. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Charles was born January 1, 1949, to Raymond and Maxine (Phillips) Comried in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in 1967. Charles married Mary Seely on May 23, 1969, in Shellsburg, Iowa. Charles was a long-time owner of NAPA Auto Parts, starting in Central City, and later moved his business to Anamosa. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing when he could. Charles loved his family and cherished their time together.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Comried; sister, Robin (Larrry) Hanover; sisters-in-law, Kay Comried, Nancy Seely, and Dorla (Steve) Voigt; along with many nieces and nephews.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Shaun Marie, and his siblings, Sandra (Herb) Boots, Geneva Killion, Doug (Sally) Comried, and Ray Comried, and his brother-in-law, Bill Seely.
