Rosannah “Anna” Slach, 75, of West Branch passed away October 9, 2025 at The Bird House in Iowa City surrounded by friends and family.
In keeping with Anna’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Bird House or the charity of your choosing.
Anna was born May 10, 1950 in Oldmeldrum, Scotland to George and Rose McRobb Abel moving to Iowa on July 4, 1972 to join her older sister, Mary McCarty, in West Branch. Anna enjoyed traveling and spending time with her large extended family, close friends and The Glee Club.
Survivors include her son, Steve (Jodie Criswell) Slach of Davenport; her nephews, Sean (Mundi) McCarty of Solon and Chad (Michelle) McCarty of North Liberty and their families; a brother Danny (Ann) Abel of Dundee, Scotland; sister-in-law Helen Abel of Helensborough, Scotland and dear friend Doreen Harper of Oldmeldrum and many generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Elspeth, Barbara, Mary and Margaret; brothers George and Sandy.
