Maryann Stewart
Maryann was one of the first to welcome me to Lovely Lane and promptly convinced me to volunteer for the Backpack program. She was a sweetheart who worked tirelessly to help others. My condolences to the family.
My big sister, Maryann, was like a second mother to me after our father died at a very young age. But the best time as sisters were these last years. We talked more, visited together more, and really became close friends. God has been so good to our family blessing us with love for each other and increased love for Him.
Maryann was my first nurse manager. As a new graduate nurse from Mount Mercy College in 1983, I applied for a staff nurse position. Maryann interviewed me and offered me a position on the oncology unit at Mercy Medical Center. I remember her as a kind and caring nurse, educator and leader. She was one of my mentors as I entered the field of oncology nursing. I will be retiring next spring after a nearly 43 year career in oncology nursing. Thank you Maryann for introducing me to my life-long love of oncology nursing. You were a gracious lady. My sincere sympathy to your family.
Community Health Free Clinic Family remembers Maryann as a wonderful kind, caring nurse & wonderful person respected by patients, volunteers & staff. Only Faith, Family, Friends, Time & Good Memories will ease the pain.
Maryann was a great nurse and a remarkable person. She gave much of herself to help others. May she rest in peace. Pwho2
I knew Maryann when she worked at Mercy--she was the epitome of what a caring cancer nurse should be--a lovely, gracious, caring person. The world was a better place with her in it.
