Harry Culbertson
Harry Culbertson, 90, of Edgewood, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Edgewood Convalescent Home with his loving family at his side. Per his wishes, there will be no services.
Harry was born on February 24, 1935 to Vernard and Dorthy (Traver) Culbertson in Manchester, Iowa. He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1952. Harry proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Myrna Jewell on February 12, 1955 in Edgewood. Together they farmed near Edgewood for many years. Harry was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Pythians.
Survivors include his loving wife, Myrna; his daughter, Sue Ellen (Ken Boeckenstedt) of Edgewood; son-in-law, John Harris of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Salina (Jeff Allison) Basten of Waukon and Krieg (Becky Hammer) Basten of Edgewood; great grandchildren, Reese and Jack Allison both of Waukon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernard and Dorthy; and daughter, Lori Culbertson-Harris, who passed away on August 13, 2025.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Edgewood Fire Department and Ambulance or Care Initiatives Hospice in Manchester.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at the Edgewood Convalescent Home and Care Initiatives Hospice for the compassionate care given to Harry during his final days.
