Joseph "Clark" Brittain

Joseph “Clark” Brittain, husband of Judy (Marquardt) Brittain for 61 years, passed away surrounded by family. Born to Joseph and Lois (Clark) Brittain, he is survived by his children Jodi Harada (John), Tami Gushiken (Cy), and Ginger Gard (Steve); grandchildren Rachel Harada, Natalie Barnett (Daniel), Andrew Harada (Alli), Logan Gushiken (Kirsten), Derek Gushiken, Jessica Hardy (Jacob), Emily Thomas (Carson), and Ben Gard; and great-grandchildren Iris Barnett, Eden Barnett, Everett Thomas, and Joanna Hardy. He is also survived by his brother Jason Brittain (Marilyn) and in-laws Larry and Vonnie Ory, Richard and Jackie Marquardt, and Jim and Linda Marquardt.

Clark was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim, his daughter Ginger, and his in-laws Eugene and Dorothy Marquardt, and Richard Marquardt.

Clark enjoyed spending time with his family, keeping a garden, and many outdoor activities. He was a champion archer and spent many days in the woods bow hunting deer or fishing the local ponds, lakes, and rivers. He owned De Soto Archery shop as well as Brittain Radiator and Body Shop. He enjoyed his membership in the De Soto coffee club that met at Hi-Way Tire.

Visitation will be Friday, November 21st at Trinity Lutheran Church: 1195 Prairieview Ave. Van Meter, IA  50261 at 9:00 AM with service and luncheon to follow at 10:00 AM.
