John Carlton Williams
John Carlton Williams, born on August 5, 1941, to John and Emma Irene Williams, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. He spent his childhood in Dexter, Iowa, where he developed the values that would define his life.
In 1962, John married Sandra Anne McKeag, embarking on a lifelong journey of love and family. Together, they raised five children: Rhonda Williams, Janine Perrin, Debra (Jamie) Lame, Troy (Sandra) Williams, and Todd (Amanda) Williams. In 1986, John and Sandra moved their family from Urbandale to Settlers Trail in St. Charles, Iowa, seeking a slower pace of life. Settlers Trail became the backdrop for countless cherished memories: planting trees, haying, summer nights by the pond, learning to swim, catching bass and bullfrogs, and sipping sweet tea, and counting the hummingbirds. It was, without a doubt, John’s favorite place on earth.
Over the years, John and Sandra's family grew to include 11 Grandchildren: Aleasha (Jason) Williams, Avery Scribner, Kelli (Mike) Williams, Richard Williams, Bobby (Julie) Frees, Brianna (Jordan) Martinez, Bradley (Dakota) Williams, Tyler (Jenna) Williams, Jacob Williams, Kyle Williams, and Xander Williams; 6 Great Grandchildren: Ryan (Kyra) Munoz, Hunter (Ashton) Keubler, Emersyn Keubler, Maverick Frees, Michael Tritle, and Briggs Frees; and two Great Great Grandchildren, Dax Munoz and Ace Munoz.
John was a man of strength and conviction, known for his unwavering spirit and dedication to his beliefs. He was the protector of his family, instilling in them the importance of unity and love. Beneath his rugged exterior was a tender heart, especially for his grandchildren and beloved pets.
He had a knack for sharing wisdom through colorful expressions and larger-than-life stories. John and Sandra were the heart and soul of their family. United once again, they will watch over their loved ones from heaven.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, and his beloved wife, Sandra.
A private burial will take place with family.
