Warren Dean McIntire

Warren Dean McIntire was born May 7, 1925 to Fannie (Lotz) McIntire and Claude Claire McIntire in Lake City, Iowa. He was the youngest of eight children. Warren graduated from Lake City High School in 1943, then attended The College of Mortuary Science in Saint Louis, Missouri. Warren graduated June 12, 1946 and obtained his funeral director license. He then obtained an embalmer’s license in 1947. Later, Warren owned McIntire Furniture in Sac City, Iowa.

Warren was united in marriage to Harriet Margaret Moore on October 23, 1948 in Highland Park, New Jersey before making their home together in Rockwell City, Iowa. In 2022 Warren and Harriet moved to Grinnell, Iowa to be closer to family.

Warren is survived by his wife Harriet, of 76 years, two sons, Gregory Dean (Kay) McIntire of Princeton, Texas and Scott Warren (Lori) of Grinnell, Iowa.  Four grandchildren – Graham (Amanda) McIntire, Morgan (Michael) Ray, Ashley (Nicholas) LaRue and Sierra Mortimer (Timothy Patten). Nine great grandchildren Garin, Avryn, and Ella McIntire, Adelaide and Anabelle Ray, Dasha and Blayne LaRue, Hailey Mortimer and Harper Patten. He was a gentle man who touched many lives. He was a great father and will be missed very much.

A private burial will be held at Lake City Cemetery (Lake City, Iowa) at a later time.
