Rebecca A. Couch
Rebecca A. Couch passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 69, after battling a long illness. Born on August 17, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa, Becky’s journey was one marked by many deep friendships, loyalty, and a profound appreciation for the world around her.
She was the beloved daughter of Carl James Couch and LaVerne "Dee Dee" Heideman, both of whom preceded her in death.
Becky is survived by her sister, Susan Baumann of Coralville, and her two brothers, Steven Couch (Irina Ivanova) of Santa Clara, California, and Michael Couch of Cumming, Iowa. She also leaves behind the love of her life, Kevin Foust, and her chosen daughter, Emily Brown, whose support and companionship were invaluable during her illness.
Becky earned her Bachelor's Degree and went on to work in Information Technology at The University of Iowa, where she became known for her excellent service.
Becky’s interests were as diverse as her talents. She had a deep love for Egyptology and made several trips to Egypt. Her competitive spirit shone through in her love of racquetball, while her nurturing side emerged in her passion for caring for animals and gardening. Yearly trips to Montana included hours hiking in the mountains and enjoying the beauty of nature. Perhaps most cherished was her bond with her dog, Skye, with whom she shared countless joyful moments, including many hours kayaking on Iowa rivers.
The family expresses their gratitude to Emily Brown for the compassionate care she provided during Becky’s final days. Her dedication made a profound difference in Becky’s journey, allowing her to remain surrounded by love.
The world is permanently changed by Becky’s kindness and unwavering support for those around her. In honoring Becky’s memory, we reflect on her spirit of kindness, her passion for life and travel, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved. She will not be forgotten.
