June Vivian Bott

June Vivian Bott, 80, of Clinton passed away Sunday March 23rd, 2025 at home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A celebration of life will be held at Wild Rose Casino & Hotel in Clinton, IA on April 13th from 1-4 pm. Iowa Cremation is honored to assist the family. She will be laid to rest in Sterling Cemetery, Sabula, IA.

June Vivian Petersen was the fourth of six children, born June 3rd, 1944, in Sterling, IA to Alva and Vivian (Johnson) Petersen. She attended Miles High School, graduating in 1962. She married Tom Craig and had 3 sons. She later married Wayne Bott on October 30th, 1978 and had 4 children.

June worked for thirty years at Wild Rose Casino, as well as the family farm, often times from sunrise to sunset, all while being a steadfast wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and family gatherings. June was known for her strong and tireless work ethic, which was second to none, and also being a problem-solver. June's family knew they could count on her to have an idea or process on any problem or issue that needed fixing. Although known for her "toughness," June was a warm and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was adored especially by her grandchildren and she set a fitting example of how to live life. June's legacy of hard work and love will be remembered by all who knew her and will serve as an inspiration for her family and friends for years to come.

June was proceeded in death by her parents and brothers Tom, Norm, and Chuck Petersen. She is survived by her husband Wayne of Clinton; children Tom (Sharon) Craig of Clinton, Bob (Frankie) Craig of Magnolia, TX, Tim (Carla) Craig of Humble, TX, Nichole (Dan) Connolly of Wauwatosa, WI, Kristin (Dave) Jennings of Clinton, IA, Chad Bott of Milwaukee, WI, Danielle (Joe) Bonnell of Clinton, IA; step-children, Wade (Suesan) Bott of Bellingham, WA  and Deneen Bott of Ferndale, WA;  brother Doug (Sue) Petersen of Thomson, IL, sister Sharon Christensen of Mint Hill, NC, sisters-in-law Linda Petersen of Brighton, CO and Ginny Petersen of Story, WY; 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 13th from 1-4 PM at the Wild Rose Casino and Hotel in Clinton, IA
